Terms and Conditions
1. Scope
These terms and conditions apply to the sale of Dúfa products to consumers through Dúfa’s online store.
By placing an order, the customer confirms that they have read and accepted these terms and conditions.
All transactions are governed by Icelandic law, including the Icelandic Consumer Purchases Act No. 48/2003 and the Icelandic Act on Consumer Contracts No. 16/2016, where applicable.
In case of any inconsistency between the Icelandic and English versions, the Icelandic version shall prevail.
2. General Terms
Dúfa reserves the right to cancel orders, for example due to incorrect pricing information, technical errors, or if a product is no longer available.
Dúfa also reserves the right to change or discontinue products without prior notice.
If an error is discovered after an order has been placed, Dúfa will contact the customer as soon as possible and offer an appropriate solution, such as a refund or the option to choose another product.
Dúfa reserves the right to confirm orders by phone in special circumstances.
3. Product Information

4. Prices
All prices in Dúfa’s online store are listed in Icelandic krónur and include value added tax.
Shipping costs are added before payment is completed and are shown during checkout before the order is confirmed.
Dúfa reserves the right to correct obvious errors in prices, product descriptions, images or other information on the website.
5. Payments
Products in the online store can be paid for using credit and debit cards.
All card payments are securely processed through the Teya payment gateway in cooperation with Shopify. Dúfa does not store customers’ card information.
6. Order Processing
All orders are usually processed and shipped within 1–3 business days from the time the order is received.
We always aim to process orders as quickly as possible, depending on circumstances.
If a product is unexpectedly out of stock, even after an order has been confirmed, the customer will be offered a refund or the option to choose another product instead.
7. Shipping Costs and Delivery
All orders are shipped with Pósturinn, unless otherwise stated.
Shipping costs are added to the product price before payment is completed and are shown during checkout before the order is confirmed.
Dúfa is responsible for ensuring that the product is delivered in accordance with the order. If a product is lost or damaged in transit before it has been delivered to the customer, the customer should contact us at info@dufa.is so the matter can be investigated with the carrier.
Once the product has been delivered to the customer, or made available to the customer according to the selected delivery method, the customer is responsible for collecting or receiving the shipment within the specified time frame.
If the customer chooses an untracked shipping method, the information available regarding delivery may be limited. However, we will always assist in checking the status of the shipment as far as possible.
8. Delivery Options in Iceland

9. International Shipping
The cost of international shipping may vary depending on the destination, the weight of the shipment and the selected shipping method.
International delivery times vary depending on the country, carrier, customs processing and other circumstances.
Dúfa is not responsible for customs duties, import fees, taxes or other costs that may apply to international shipments. Such costs are the responsibility of the customer.
If you have any questions regarding shipping, please contact us at info@dufa.is.
10. Returns
The customer generally has a 14-day right to withdraw from the purchase of a product bought through Dúfa’s online store, starting from the day the product is delivered. Consumers generally have the right to cancel distance purchases within 14 days without giving a reason, provided that the product is returned undamaged.
To exercise this right, the customer must notify us at info@dufa.is within the applicable time limit.
Returned products must be unused, undamaged and in their original packaging, in the same condition as when they were delivered.
The cost of return shipping is the responsibility of the customer, unless the product is defective or incorrect.
The customer may choose between a refund or exchanging the product for another product, where applicable and subject to availability.
11. Refunds
Refunds are made using the same payment method that was used for the original purchase, unless otherwise agreed.
The refund is based on the price the customer paid for the product.
Dúfa refunds the product price and, where applicable by law, the standard delivery cost. The cost of return shipping is the responsibility of the customer, unless the product is defective or incorrect.
Refunds are processed once the product has been received by Dúfa and it has been confirmed that the product meets the return conditions.
12. Condition of Returned Products
Returned products must be unused, undamaged and in their original, intact packaging.
For hygiene reasons, earrings cannot be returned.
Dúfa reserves the right to refuse returns if the product is not in its original condition or if the return conditions are not met.
13. Defective or Incorrect Products
If a product is defective or incorrect, the customer should contact us as soon as possible at info@dufa.is.
To speed up the process, please include photos of the product and the order number in the email.
If a product is found to be defective, the matter will be handled in accordance with the Icelandic Consumer Purchases Act. Depending on the circumstances, the customer may be entitled to repair, replacement, a price reduction or a refund. Under Icelandic consumer law, the seller is required to deliver products in the agreed condition, quality and quantity, and remedies for defects depend on the circumstances of each case.
Dúfa reserves the right to inspect the product and assess whether it is a manufacturing defect.
A product is not considered defective if damage or changes in condition are caused by an accident, incorrect use, negligence, normal wear, moisture, chemicals, perfume, cosmetics or other handling that is not in accordance with the care instructions.
14. Warranty and Product Lifespan
Liability for defects is governed by the Icelandic Consumer Purchases Act No. 48/2003.
The general complaint period for defects is 2 years from the delivery of the product, provided that the defect is not due to normal wear, incorrect use, accident or negligence. The consumer must notify the seller of the defect within a reasonable time after becoming aware of it.
Dúfa’s liability covers manufacturing defects, but does not cover damage caused by accidents, incorrect handling, normal wear, moisture, chemicals, perfume, cosmetics or colour changes caused by use or age.
Plating, gold coating and surface finishes may change over time depending on use, skin type and care. This is generally considered normal wear and not a manufacturing defect.
15. Jewellery Care
To extend the lifespan of your jewellery, we recommend removing it before showering, swimming, exercising, sleeping or any other activity where it may come into contact with moisture, heat, sweat or chemicals.
Avoid contact with perfume, creams, hair products, cleaning products and other cosmetics.
Store jewellery in a dry place, preferably in a box or soft pouch, when not in use.
